Nardine Wimmin’s Refuge does wonderful work in the community supporting women and children escaping from domestic violence. A small grant was received to enable Nardine to improve their outdoor space and create a more inviting environment while adding play value with custom made elements.

NBP installed clambering logs and moveable timber steppers to allow kids to manipulate them and create their own space. Other elements include a timber play tunnel, carved top logs and bowl stump. New planters connect the space to the green trees beyond the centre.

Nature Based Play believes that, especially in the context of Nature Play, there is much to be gained from pursuing a deeper understanding of the cultural, spiritual and educational practices of First Nations peoples.

Our offices and workshop are located on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar, though our work takes us all across the State. As such we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work throughout Western Australia.
