“How Nature Play Spaces Support Positive Child Development”

This report by Cath Fitzhardinge, Occupational Therapist  explores 6 Nature Based Play projects. Through observation of children and interviews with the School/Centre Operators, Cath considers the impact of these spaces on children’s play and development. This report is a great introduction to Nature Play, why these spaces are so important and what children need to get the most out of their Nature Play experience.

Nature Based Play believes that, especially in the context of Nature Play, there is much to be gained from pursuing a deeper understanding of the cultural, spiritual and educational practices of First Nations peoples.

Our offices and workshop are located on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar, though our work takes us all across the State. As such we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work throughout Western Australia.
