NBP was approached by Greening Australia to be involved in their ‘Our Park Our Place’ project at Arbor Park in Morley, including a nature discovery trail.  A nature pattern community workshop was conducted, and from these drawings NBP created the final design and construction of the nature discovery trail with an emphasis on nature patterns carvings.

Working also with the City of Bayswater, the concept of the project was to enhance the natural bush area at Arbor Park and support community connection with nature. The nature discovery trail and nature carvings within the existing natural bush area provide a connection and learning opportunity for the local community with nature within an urban park setting.

New plantings and pathways entice park users to walk, play and exercise in the natural bush space.

Nature Based Play believes that, especially in the context of Nature Play, there is much to be gained from pursuing a deeper understanding of the cultural, spiritual and educational practices of First Nations peoples.

Our offices and workshop are located on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar, though our work takes us all across the State. As such we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work throughout Western Australia.
