WOODLUPINE FAMILY CENTRE

The NBP team went to Woodlupine Family Centre to transform the play space into a more natural, engaging environment for young children. The refreshed area now features large timber steppers leading to a new fort, complete with a slide and tunnel. Nearby, children can explore a cosy stick hideaway and log abacus.

Under the shade structure, a rock-mound water play zone flows into the sandpit, where a carved log invites imaginative play. A fairy bridge and pathway now connect the space to the existing bike track, adding texture and a touch of whimsy.

Woodlupine family centre is a not for profit organisation and this project was proudly supported by local member Stephen Price and the City of Kalamunda.

Nature Based Play believes that, especially in the context of Nature Play, there is much to be gained from pursuing a deeper understanding of the cultural, spiritual and educational practices of First Nations peoples.

Our offices and workshop are located on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar, though our work takes us all across the State. As such we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work throughout Western Australia.
