ST PETER’S PRIMARY SCHOOL

NBP designed and delivered a bespoke nature play space for St Peter’s Primary School that encourages imaginative, active and sensory-rich play. Drawing inspiration from the playground at Mater Christi school, the space blends natural materials and purpose-built play structures, including interactive water play zones, refuelling stations, road signage and a range of sensory elements.

Climbing is a highlight, with a mini monkey bar and timber climber leading to an elevated deck with stick ladder and slides. Children can also enjoy a range of swinging experiences, from a tree swing and a multi-swing configuration incorporating swivel seats, rope loops and a rope bridge.

The space is framed by native trees and shrubs, working with the natural surfacing to create a landscape that will grow into a well-shaded environment over time. All timber used is sustainably sourced and treated for durability, and every NBP play space is independently safety audited on completion.

Nature Based Play believes that, especially in the context of Nature Play, there is much to be gained from pursuing a deeper understanding of the cultural, spiritual and educational practices of First Nations peoples.

Our offices and workshop are located on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar, though our work takes us all across the State. As such we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work throughout Western Australia.
