NGILGI CAVE YALLINGUP
The Ngilgi Cave in Yallingup was WA’s very first tourist attraction. Its magnificent stalactites and coloured shawls covering the walls are a stunning natural feature.
NBP was invited to be part of the Ancient Lands Discovery Project, featuring a purpose built visitor centre, cafe, cultural meeting place and a nature play space.
The design brief was to create a very natural play space in harmony with the surrounding bushland. Plenty of climbing opportunities feature, with our humpback whale climber prominent in the centre. Other items include a bespoke swing with rope challenges, classic cubby, carved top logs and a looking glass portal.
The timber, rocks and mulch were supplied by the Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association, sustainably sourced from the local area.
Timber carvings based on sea-themed symbols have been added in consultation with Josh Whiteland of Koomal Dreaming.
