EAST MADDINGTON PS
NBP was engaged by East Maddington primary school to reimagine an existing playground within the grounds, creating a more natural open ended play space for the kids to explore.
Concrete paths were removed and a playmound and creek bed were created, with a water play rock mound with carved water channels at one end and framed by ground logs and rocks. Carved top logs and stumps run around the edge of the playground adjacent to water taps, so they can be manually filled for additional water play areas, or for collecting gumnuts and other natural elements for creative play.
Climbing opportunities abound with a bespoke fort featuring 3 levels and peepholes to look out, a mini monkey to challenge upper body strength and a mini humpback climber.
Steppers create pathways amongst the trees, linking the elements into one cohesive playground space.
