KALAMUNDA PS EDUCATION SUPPORT CENTRE NATURE PLAYGROUND

Kalamunda Primary Education Support Centre supports a diverse range of students with varying needs and abilities. NBP designed and constructed a playground incorporating a range of sensory experiences and physical challenges to support the learning process of these children.

Non verbal signage opens the space, leading on to a log rope balance and mini monkey climber offering challenge and developmental stimulation for all ages. A classic cubby creates an inviting gathering spot for a game, while talking pipes offer a different sensory experience.  A carved top log entices discovery and collection of natural textural elements, with a looking glass post nearby to examine treasures up close.

Nature Based Play believes that, especially in the context of Nature Play, there is much to be gained from pursuing a deeper understanding of the cultural, spiritual and educational practices of First Nations peoples.

Our offices and workshop are located on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar, though our work takes us all across the State. As such we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work throughout Western Australia.
