HILTON PS

Hilton Primary School invited NBP back to add another section of nature play to the school grounds.

The new space has an entrance comprising twin rock mounds with a link to the Fremantle Port, representing the rocky pathway where the river meets the sea.

A balance path weaves in between the trees along the perimeter fence, jumping from rock to log.

Two giant stumps connect a multi use rope walk – for balancing, swinging or as a place to sit.

Drawings by Indigenous artist Turid Calgaret have been carved into the timber by our timber artist Mac.

Check out this short video of kids enjoying the new space!

Nature Based Play believes that, especially in the context of Nature Play, there is much to be gained from pursuing a deeper understanding of the cultural, spiritual and educational practices of First Nations peoples.

Our offices and workshop are located on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar, though our work takes us all across the State. As such we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work throughout Western Australia.
