COLLINS AND GRANVILLE PARKS NATURE PLAY WILLETTON

The City of Canning commissioned NBP to add some nature play elements to two parks in the Willetton area.

The Collins Park nature play includes 2 log based repurposed slides, a log balancing nest and ground rocks. A carved top log was added for imaginative play, collecting water in the winter months.

Granville Park also features two log based repurposed slides, a notched climbing ground log and balancing logs and rocks.

The result is two lovely low key play spaces using sustainable and repurposed materials to enhance the natural landscape and existing tree canopy.

Nature Based Play believes that, especially in the context of Nature Play, there is much to be gained from pursuing a deeper understanding of the cultural, spiritual and educational practices of First Nations peoples.

Our offices and workshop are located on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar, though our work takes us all across the State. As such we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work throughout Western Australia.
