NBP was asked by Southern Grove Primary School to complete a Nature Playground Master Plan for their new public school. Within a flat courtyard area, the design created a landscaped and mounded nature playground, with a variety of water play, climbing, balancing and interactive nature play items, with logs, rocks and plantings.

The result was a beautiful landscaped play space with a great number and variety of natural features and play items for the kids to explore, interact with and play on. The nature play space not only provides a wonderful and stimulating playground for the kids, but also a landscaped area to enjoy and retreat into

Nature Based Play believes that, especially in the context of Nature Play, there is much to be gained from pursuing a deeper understanding of the cultural, spiritual and educational practices of First Nations peoples.

Our offices and workshop are located on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar, though our work takes us all across the State. As such we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work throughout Western Australia.
