Richmond PS – Nature Playground (Stage 2)

Client: Richmond PS
Location: 37 Windsor Rd, East Fremantle
Dates: Aug, 2021
Outcomes: School Nature Playground

NBP was asked to complete Stage 2 of the Richmond PS Nature Playspace in their central courtyard outdoor area in the school. A creek, fairy bridge and rock water play feature was integrated into the existing nature play space, along with steppers and carved logs, to create a sensory water play experience for the kids.

The final Nature Play space provides a playable landscape in the central courtyard, with a wide range of play experiences, including sensory, active, balancing, reflective and water play.

Nature Play Elements:

Balancing and Sitting: Timber Steppers, Ground rocks.
Water Play: Rock Water Feature, Carved water top rock, Carved water log, Dry Creek.
Thematic Play: Fairy Bridge, Stick shelter
Sensory: Sensory Totem, Timber Carvings, Loose shells

Client Testimonial:

“The new area is absolutely fantastic.  The kids are loving the stream and playing with the water even on a cold day like today.  I’ve never seen so many kids in that one area.”

“Thank you to Tony and his team for doing such a huge job with minimal interruption to our school.  They were all very friendly and helpful in fitting in with other things happening on school grounds.”
