QUAIRADING SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL OUTDOOR CLASSROOM & NOONGAR GARDEN
Location: Quairading, WA
Commissioned: Design and Construct. NBP was the nominated design and build artist, commissioned for the project by CANWA.
Nature Play Elements: Outdoor Classroom, native plantings, Noongar cultural elements and artwork, sitting rocks and logs.
Description: Named the Kaadadjiny Kalyakoorl Garden, this garden was designed as a centre for students to play and learn about native plants, bush tucker and Noongar culture. This community project was initiated to celebrate the centenary of the school, and was an initiative of the Quairading centenary committee; the Quairading School and CANWA.
The community collaboration in this project included School children; local farmers and timber workers; local earth-workers and artists; Noongar Elders and the WEX community work team.
