The North Beach Primary school P&C approached NBP to design a nature play area for their kindy.  The elements installed were carefully chosen to engage the children’s senses in a calming and fun environment. The water play area includes carved water logs and a natural log trough sloping into the sandpit to encourage creative and open ended play. This is a firm favourite with the children.

Sensory elements include a music wall and talking pipe.

Plenty of physical opportunities are provided with balancing and climbing logs and jarrah climbing deck. The area is landscaped with ground rocks, recycled wharf rope edging and new eucalypts.

Nature Based Play believes that, especially in the context of Nature Play, there is much to be gained from pursuing a deeper understanding of the cultural, spiritual and educational practices of First Nations peoples.

Our offices and workshop are located on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar, though our work takes us all across the State. As such we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work throughout Western Australia.
