JARRAHDALE PRIMARY SCHOOL NATURE PLAYGROUND

Client: Jarrahdale Primary School
Date: Oct, 2019
Outcomes: Nature Playground for kindy and pre-primary areas

Jarrahdale PS requested a smaller nature play space that incorporated play and learning opportunities for the students. The design included an Outdoor Classroom, Water Play and a variety of musical and sensory features, that were integrated within the existing outdoor areas to create wonderful nature playground spaces.

The water stone feature was built using local rocks to create a rock stream connected to mains water, and the musical and sensory elements allow for sensory play, along with the cubby bones frame that gives kids the opportunity to build their own cubby creation. The outdoor classroom gives teaches the opportunity to deliver classes in a lovely outdoor setting.

Nature Play Elements:
Outdoor classroom, water features & sensory play pieces

Outdoor Classroom: Selected ground logs, steppers and rocks in mulch
Water feature: Carved Water stumps, Carved top logs, Carved water rocks & stone water feature
Musical items: Abacus Log, Log Drum, Mushroom Bell Seats & Vertical music stick
Sensory Items: Sensory Forest Totems
Hideaways: Cubby Bones – cubby frame that the kids can add to, to create their own cubby spaces
