The Collier Primary School P&C approached Nature Based Play to design a masterplan for Nature play outdoor areas for their school. Working closely with the P&C, a final masterplan design was completed and Stage 1 construction, in collaboration with the school, was built and completed. As a collaborative construction, certain landscaping elements were completed by the school volunteers themselves, with specialist Nature Play elements completed by Nature Based Play.

The result was combined and flowing nature play areas, integrated with existing trees and play equipment, enhancing the outdoor area with beautifully landscaped and finished nature play elements. The final playground provides many different balancing, climbing, exploring opportunities, along with quiet places for the children’s experience and enjoyment.

Nature Play Elements:

Rope Play: Rope Sway Bridge, Loose Balance Rope
Hideaways: Cubby Bones – cubby frame that the kids can add to, to create their own cubby spaces, Cubby building sticks, Cubby Shelter Kitchen
Imaginary Play: Mud Kitchen, Fairy Bridge
Landscaping Elements: Soft Fall Mulch, White Sand, Paths, Edging
Sitting & Balancing: Ground Logs, Balancing Logs, Ground Rocks, Vine Seat
