The owners of Bright Sparks ELC approached NBP to help transform their existing ELC playground area into a nature play wonderland. NBP worked with the owners to design the nature playground and incorporate their wishes for imaginative, sensory, water and active play items.

Designed for kids from 3yrs old, the area was created with focus on bringing in soft landscapes such as trees, sand and mulch, along with mounds and swales to create a natural landscape within the enclosed area. Many different nature play items and elements were incorporated including water play and active play, plus sensory and imaginative play opportunities. These nature play elements provide for a range of high value play experiences and learning activities, well suited to younger children.

Nature Based Play believes that, especially in the context of Nature Play, there is much to be gained from pursuing a deeper understanding of the cultural, spiritual and educational practices of First Nations peoples.

Our offices and workshop are located on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar, though our work takes us all across the State. As such we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work throughout Western Australia.
